Word to PDF

Convert .docx to PDF in your browser

About this tool

Convert a Microsoft Word .docx file to PDF. We use mammoth.js to render the document into HTML, then convert to PDF. Basic formatting (paragraphs, headings, lists, simple tables) works well. Complex Word features like headers/footers, page breaks, columns, or embedded objects may not transfer faithfully.

Why use a word to pdf tool?

PDFs lock formatting — what you sent is exactly what the recipient sees. Word documents render slightly differently across versions and operating systems, so converting to PDF before sharing prevents missing fonts, shifted layouts, or unintended edits.

How to convert Word to PDF

  1. Drop a .docx file. mammoth.js converts the Word document into HTML internally.
  2. Click Convert to PDF. HTML renders into A4 pages with proper text styling.
  3. Multi-page handling. Long documents auto-paginate at A4 boundaries.
  4. Download PDF. Output preserves headings, bullets, tables, and basic formatting.

Frequently asked questions

Will all Word formatting transfer?
Basic formatting (paragraphs, headings, lists, tables) renders well. Complex features like headers/footers, columns, and embedded objects may not transfer perfectly.
Is the PDF text selectable?
Yes. Output PDFs have selectable, copyable text rather than rendered images.
Does this work for .doc files?
Currently .docx only. Convert older .doc files to .docx in Word/Google Docs first.
What about Word with images?
Embedded images survive the conversion.
Page size?
Output is A4 by default.
